ESWT :

Extracorporal Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and musculoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. The energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.

What does ESWT do?

  • Angiogenesis
  • Reversal of chronic inflammation·
  • Dissolution of calcified fibroblasts·
  • Stimulation of collagen production·
  • Release of trigger point.
  • Dispersion of pain mediator “substance p”·

What does ESWT treat?
  • Chronic tendinopathies·
  • Bone pathologies
  • Skin Pathologies
  • Muscle pathologies
  • Musculoskeletal pathologies
  • Proximal plantar fasciitis
  • Lateral epicondylitis
  • Calcific tendinitis (shoulder)
  • Patellar tendinopathy (Jumper’s knee)
  • Achilles tendinopathy

Tecar Therapy

Capacitive and resistive energetic transfer.

What is Tecar?

The Tecar is an endogenous thermotherapy that uses electrical currents, induced by a 448 kHz capacitive/resistive monopolar radiofrequency, to generate warming up of deep tissues.

What does Tecar do?

Tecar provides two different treatment modes: capacitive (CAP) and resistive (RES).

  • CAP- active electrode is provided with an insulating ceramic layer, acting as a dielectric medium - produces heat in superficial tissue layers only·
  • RES- the active electrode has no insulating layer, energy passes through the inactive electrode - Produces heat in the deeper more resistant (low water content) tissue layers ·

  • Wrist extensor Tendinopathies

Phonophoresis

Ultrasound with topical medications

What is Phonophoresis?

Phonophoresis is when an ultrasound is used to maximize the effects of a topical drug. The ultrasound waves push particles of a pain-relieving or anti-inflammatory drug deeper into your skin tissues so the cells absorb the pain reliever without the associated risks of delivering those same medications by orally.

What does Phonophoresis do?

Phonophoresis is commonly used to treat inflammatory issues and injuries to soft tissues by delivering anti-inflammatory medications deeper into the tissue. We use a combination of dexamethasone, lidocaine and natural essential oils to obtain immediate pain relief.
